TAPAU Charts

How the charts work

Two weekly Top 10s, one for demos and one for music videos, decided entirely by community votes. Here’s how voting works, how positions are decided, and how to get your own music in.

Voting

Voting is free with a TAPAU account. Back everything you love. The one limit is one vote per entry, per week.

  • Vote for as many as you like

There’s no weekly cap. Vote for any number of demos and music videos across both charts.

  • Once per entry, per week

Each demo or music video can get one vote from you per week. Your vote for it comes back when the new week starts.

  • Votes are final for the week

Once cast, a vote can’t be moved or taken back. It counts until the chart resets.

  • Your votes are private

Nobody else sees who you voted for. You can see your own votes in My TAPAU.

For example

With 10 demos and 10 music videos in the charts, you could vote for all 20 this week. What you can’t do is vote for “Triple Pay” twice in the same week. Next Monday, you can vote for it again.

The weekly cycle

  1. 1

    Monday 00:01 MYT

    A new week opens

Every entry’s votes go back to zero and everyone gets a fresh vote for each entry.

  2. 2

    All week

    Positions move live

Each vote counts straight away, so the Top 10 changes as people vote.

  3. 3

    Next Monday 00:01 MYT

    The chart is final

Final positions and vote counts are saved to the chart archive. Last week, Peak and NEW update, and the next week begins.

How positions are decided

Most votes this week wins

Entries are ranked by the votes they’ve received since Monday. Only this week’s votes count.

Ties go to the newer entry

If two entries have the same number of votes, the more recently added one is placed higher, giving new music a fair shot.

Up to 4 weeks in the chart

Each entry charts for a maximum of 4 weeks from its first chart week, then retires to make room for new music. It stays in the catalogue and in the archive for good.

FAQ

Why can’t I vote for an entry?

Either you’ve already voted for it this week, it has finished its 4-week run, or you’re not logged in. Votes for that entry open again on Monday.

Can I vote for my own music?

Yes, like everyone else: once per entry each week. Charts are decided by the whole community, so share your entry and ask your listeners to vote.

When do positions update?

Straight away. Every vote counts the moment it’s cast, and the order is final at Monday 00:01 (Malaysia time).

Where can I see past charts?

Every week’s final Top 10 is kept in the chart archive.

How do I know if my demo was approved?

Go to My TAPAU › My posts. Your demo shows as “In review” until it’s approved, then “Live”.

This week’s race is on.
