Terms of Use

These terms are the rules for using TAPAUasia. They cover your account, what you post, the charts, TAPAUtv and tips. Please read them. By using TAPAU you agree to them.

1About these terms

TAPAUasia (“TAPAU”, “we”, “us”) is run by TAPAUasia Sdn. Bhd. (Company registration no.). These terms apply to the TAPAUasia website and TAPAUtv. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.

2Who can use TAPAU

You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf. You can browse TAPAU without an account. You need one to vote, review, comment or submit.

3Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep your email address up to date.
  • One account per person. Bands, labels and collectives can have their own account, run by a real person.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Do not pretend to be someone else, or suggest you speak for an artist, venue or brand when you do not.

4What you post

You keep ownership of the music, videos, films, photos, stories, reviews and comments you post (“your content”).

You give us permission to use it on TAPAU. By posting, you give TAPAU a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, stream and share your content on TAPAUasia and TAPAUtv, and to use it to promote TAPAU and your work (for example, in a chart recap or on our social channels, credited to you). You can remove your content at any time and the licence ends when you do, except for content already broadcast or used in promotion, which may stay in archives.

You confirm you have the rights. You must own your content or have permission from everyone who does, including band members, producers, labels, featured artists, samples, footage and artwork. Do not post anything that infringes someone else’s rights.

5Submissions and moderation

The team checks submissions before they go live. We may edit details for accuracy or formatting (such as titles, credits or categories), ask you for more information, or decline a submission. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law. We are not obliged to publish anything.

6Community rules

TAPAU is for the scene. Keep it that way. Do not post or do anything that:

  • Harasses, threatens, bullies or targets anyone, including artists you are reviewing.
  • Promotes hate or discrimination based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
  • Shares someone’s personal information without their permission.
  • Is sexually explicit, or sexualises anyone under 18 in any way.
  • Is illegal, promotes illegal activity or breaks Malaysian law.
  • Is spam, a scam, malware or misleading advertising.
  • Interferes with how TAPAU works, including scraping, bots or trying to access other accounts.

7Reviews

  • Review things you have actually heard, watched or attended.
  • Be honest. Criticise the work, not the person.
  • Do not review your own work, or work by your band, label or anyone you are paid by, without saying so.
  • Do not post, buy or sell fake reviews or ratings.

8Charts and voting

  • Signed-in members get one vote per entry per chart week. Charts reset every Monday at 00:01 Malaysia time. How the charts work has the details.
  • Do not use more than one account, bots, paid votes, vote swapping schemes or anything else that games the charts.
  • We may remove votes or entries, or reset a result, if we find manipulation. Our decision on chart results is final.
  • Chart positions are a community signal. They are not an award or endorsement from TAPAU.

9TAPAUtv and live chat

TAPAUtv is free to watch. Programmes, schedules and availability can change without notice, and the stream may go offline. The community rules apply in the live chat. Moderators may delete messages and remove people from the chat.

10Tips and payments

Tips are voluntary payments to TAPAUasia to support the channel and the platform, unless the page clearly says a tip goes to a specific artist. Payments are processed by CHIP under its own terms. Tips are not a purchase of goods or services and are not refundable, except where the law requires it or a payment was made in error. Contact us within 14 days about any payment problem.

12Our content and name

The TAPAU and TAPAUasia names, logos, design and our own content (such as TAPAU original shows and editorial) belong to TAPAUasia Sdn. Bhd.. You may share links to TAPAU, but do not copy our content or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our permission.

14Suspending or closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time from My TAPAU. It is hidden straight away and kept for 6 months in case you change your mind: log in within that time to restore it. After that it is deleted for good. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if it breaks these terms, creates risk for TAPAU or others, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why.

15No guarantees

We work hard to keep TAPAU running and accurate, but we provide it “as is”. We do not guarantee it will always be available or error free. Opinions in reviews, stories and comments belong to the people who wrote them, not TAPAU. Event details come from organisers, so check with them before you go.

16Our liability

To the extent the law allows, TAPAU is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by content posted by other people, third-party services, or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Malaysian consumer law that cannot be excluded.

17Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Malaysia. We would always rather sort things out with you directly first, so please contact us.

18Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. If you keep using TAPAU after that, you accept the new terms.
